Chapter 2
With such a grand case, no man would be brave enough to take it since Fayrew was known for the ghastliest villains. However, there was one man who can outwit the most cunning thief; one man that could outrun the quickest robbers. That one man was none other than Detective Blake Dash, the best detective of Fayrew. With his trusted partner, Dr. Gerald, they try to sweep the streets of Fayrew clean of evil.
“Gerald, buddy, you’ve been quite a father figure to me for the last 10 years,” said Blake as he put down his book titled “The Art of War”.
“Remember our first case together. My that was such a thrill. But, I was young a foolish,” sighed Blake as he gazed out into the pouring rain.
“You still are,” chuckled Gerald as he got back to his tea. Suddenly, the door bashed open. Both men turned around quickly, thinking that it might have been some burglar. To Gerald’s surprise and Dash’s dismay, in the doorway stood Olivia, drenched and fatigued.
“Please sirs, I need your help,” pleaded Olivia who feels like she’s about to pass out.
“And who are you, young miss?” said Gerald, kindly.
“I am Olivia Finch. You might know my father, JoThn Finch, the…” explained Olivia before Blake interrupted.
“John T. Finch, one of the top inventors of Fayrew. Your father has been working with my mortal enemy, Fowler Prey… the only criminal that I can never get my hands on. Why must I help someone who is in touch with Fowler?” asked Blake in an irate mood.
“Now please Blake, can’t you see this girl has been through… Pardon me, Miss Olivia, but what have you been through?” asked Gerald, as he covered poor Olivia in a warm blanket.
“My father has been kidnapped by a man with a scar on his left cheek and a right pegged-leg,” described Olivia.
“Eureka! I figured out who took your father!” exclaimed Blake.
“Who?” both Gerald and Olivia asked in unison.
“It was none other than that fowl Fowler Prey,” said Blake.
“How do you know? I mean, there are many men with scars on their faces and pegged-legs,” said Olivia, still unconvinced.
“Because Dr. Gerald and I have encountered the very same man every time we foil Fowler’s plan,” said Blake. Then, Olivia ran towards Blake and showed her big, hazel eyes at him and said, “My, you are one smart man.” Blake blushed but he can’t stop gazing at those huge, cute eyes. “Umm, quiet,” said the embarrass Blake Dash.
“Miss Olivia, we’ll sure find your father soon enough. Just rest here while I call Dyna, our housekeeper,” assured Gerald as he pulled Olivia towards the chair.
“Thank you, you’ve been a great help to me,” thanked Olivia with a bright smile. Blake and Gerald both gulp as the beauty went away with Dyna Finn, housekeeper of Dash and Gerald.
“Come now dearie, we’ll put you in some of Master Dash’s mother’s clothes,” said Dyna calmly. Obediently, Olivia followed.
“Blake, ol’ boy, this might be your big break!” exclaimed Gerald.

The Mysterious Disappearance
Chapter 1
On the corner of Sin Street and Risk Avenue lived Professor Finch and his daughter, Olivia Finch. None of them were aware of the terrible danger that will befall upon them due to the brilliant mind of Professor Finch. Inside the shop that was labeled “Inventions Galore”, Finch and Olivia were making a daring breakthrough, the first ever machine to have the look and feel of a human. However, there were still a few kinks left.
“Daddy, the robotic Queen still needs new gears,” observed Olivia.
“Don’t worry Livy, we’ll make do with the gears that we have. All we need is a little oil and some more funding from Fowler Prey,” assured Finch as he dabbed more oil on the rusted gears.
“Fowler Prey! That good for nothing rat! Please don’t borrow anymore money from him. We’re in a huge debt already,” whined Olivia.
“Now, now, without Mr. Fowler, the shop would not have existed. It was him that put my brilliant brain to work… I mean our brilliant brains. Don’t worry, Livy, I’m sure this is what your Mummy might have wanted,” boasted Finch. However, Olivia convinced herself that Mary Finch would never have wanted her husband to be partners with a scoundrel.
Suddenly, lighting and thunder filled the sky, giving more touch to the pouring day. Nevertheless, the Finch duo worked till midnight. Then, the terrible happened. With two heavy poundings on the door, Professor Finch quickly hid Olivia in the back of the storage room. Olivia could not resist the temptation to peek, but she regretted it badly. To Olivia’s horror, she sadly saw her father being dragged away by a peg-legged, muscular, scar-faced man. “Olivia…” screamed Professor Flinch in the distant.
After the horrible ordeal, Olivia’s only goal is to bring the kidnapper to justice. However, she cannot find anyone who would care enough to find Professor Finch. With a stroke of luck, a piece of paper flew in Olivia’s eye. On the tiny paper cutout printed “Detective Dash Defeated Diamond Bandits” in big, bolded words. “Thank you,” said Olivia to the sky as she hugged the paper close to her heart.
